College Highlights

Andhra the first linguistic state formed in 1953, Kurnool as capital. Rajbhavan was constructed for Governer’s residence at Kurnool was kept vacant for a long time, then the deputy chief minister Neelam Sanjeeva Reddy took initiate and with the help of Philanthropist Kasi Reddy Venkat Reddy the first  women’s college was started on July 27th 1958 with total 14 acres for college and 1.5 acres for hostel.

• This is the First Women’s college in Government sector in Rayalaseema.
• Reaccredited by NAAC with ‘A’ Grade.
• Autonomous College with Semester system.
• Completed 60 years and celebrated Diamond Jubliee on 27.07.2018.
• The only government college for women with hostel facility in Kurnool district.
• The hostel is student managed accomodataing around 1200 students.
• Identified college in the district.
• Nodal JKC providing employable skills and conducting campus drives.
• NCC & NSS units actively engaging in extension activities.
• DRC centre from 2009.
• Library is providing INFLIBNET.
• The college is offering 19 UG and 8 PG programs.
• The only governemnt degree college providing URDU medium since its inception in  Kurnool district.
• The only governemnt degree college providing HOME SCIENCE since its inception in 1958 in entire region of Rayalaseema.
• The department of Botany is promoting organic farming utilising a part of land in college premises.
• 24 faculty are Alumnae of college.
• One of the constituent colleges under cluster university.
