In the words of Swami Vivekananda “We want the education by which character is formed, strength of mind is increased, intellect is expanded and by which one can stand on one’s own feet ”. Following this saying since its inception in 1958 the college which was the visionary dream of Sri.Kasireddy.Venkatareddy garu has been continuously striving hard to provide quality education to the women students of the rural areas of Rayalaseema region who are the first generation learners. We know that women are great human resource and they play a vital role in the society for development of the nation. To empower women is to increase their control over the decisions that affect their lives both within and outside the household. Through their empowerment women get greater share of control over resources which gives them the power of decision making at home, community, society and nation. I am extremely proud of being a woman and to lead this prestigious women’s college as Principal.

The college with an humble beginning of just 4 groups and 71 women students has now become a reputed women ’s college with more than 2000 students in the recent years. Over a period of 60 successful years it has become a flagship institution and gained vast development in terms of infrastructure, student enrolment, staff strength, subject options in multi faculty, multi disciplinary programmes at UG & PG levels.

K.V.R. Govt. College for Women (A) is committed for the overall, continuous growth of the students, meets the expectations of parents and society. The primary focus of the institution is the moral integrity, discipline, concern for nature and holistic development of the students. It has been our primary concern to continuously improve the facilities being provided to our students so that they are on par with the competition around them. As Aristotle said ‘The roots of education are bitter but the fruit is sweet’, with lot of struggle the goal has to be reached.

The institution advocates the concepts like Gender rights, Human Rights, Consumer Rights, Human Values, Soft Skills, Communication Skills, Analytical Skills through various activities. Programmes such as NSS, NCC JKC, Skill Development, Women Empowerment, Career Guidance, Sports and games offer continuous services for the overall development of the students.

Our college has been accredited with ‘A’grade in NAAC 2nd cycle in 2011, granted Autonomous status in the year 2015, became constituent college in Cluster University of RUSA in the year 2016, celebrated its Diamond jubilee in 2018. These are the few of noted achievements in the recent times. All these have been possible only with the support extended by the staff and the students to the administration. We are still on the path of achieving more.
