Examination Branch of KVR Govt. College for Women(A), Kurnool
I. Brief Introduction:
Under “The New Education policy of UGC”- 1984, our College was conferred the autonomous status in 2015. As per the pre-requisites of autonomy, the Examination Branch is established in the year 2015. The examination branch is one of the most significant branches and it acts like heart of College which plans and monitors the examination and evaluation of both UG and PG courses. It is a confidential section with the responsibility of smooth conduction of examinations for all the courses and maintenance of student’s records.
The Principal of the college is the “Chief Superintendent” of the examination branch. The Controller, assistant controllers and other staff of examination branch are appointed as per the UGC guidelines.

Scheme of examination:
Internal Evaluation – (40Marks)
Two Internal Assessment Tests will be conducted and the average of the two will be taken into consideration.
Total : 40 marks
Pass marks (40%) : 16 marks
External Evaluation – (60Marks)
Marks allotted for Attendance* (as per the percentage of attendance)
If percentage of attendance is > 95 : 5marks
91-95 : 4marks
86-90 : 3 marks
81-85 : 2marks
75-80 : 1 mark
II.Rules for students:
The Students are governed by the rules and regulations framed by the Examination Branch of this College.
1. 75% attendance both in theory and practical courses (wherever applicable) is mandatory for candidates to be eligible to appear for the semester examination.
2. After the semester system was introduced, examinations for I, III and V Semesters are held in October/November each year. Examinations for II, IV & VI Semesters are held in March/April every year.
3. Registration for examinations: All students undergoing regular courses of study have to register for every semester exam by paying the requisite exam fee, filling the examination form and obtaining the hall ticket before appearing for the said exam.
III. Responsibilities of examination branch:
1. Looks after the conduction of BOS Meetings, Academic Council meetings, GB Meetings, Question Paper Setting, Valuation of answer scripts .
2. Prepares Academic Calendar for odd and even semesters, examination time table of internal and external exams for all semesters.
3. Processing of examination application forms and issue of hall tickets to the students.
4. Conducts the regular semester examinations(both internal & external) and also the backlogs of all semesters, declares the results, issues marks memo, provisional certificates, consolidated marks memo etc.,
5. The examination branch looks after the payment of remuneration to the examiners, receipts of examination fees, payment towards stationery etc., purchased for the examination branch.
6. The exam branch also looks after the exams related to the Rayalaseema university(like B.Ed) and other competitive exams for Govt. jobs conducted by APPSC, SSC etc.,
7. Semester and Consolidated Memorandum of Marks is issued by the Examination Branch. Under CBCS, the Memorandum of Marks /Grade Report is issued at the end of each semester to the student reflecting the marks, credits and grade letter in each paper.
