DEPARTMENT OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION 

The Department of Physical Education was established in 1958. Ever since its inception it has been conducting many Inter - Inter - Collegiate and Open Tournaments in the field of sports and participating in the Inter University tournaments, national level competitions and state level competitions. The department provides opportunities for the students to demonstrate their competence in inter- collegiate sports meets. The students use the facilities of the Department of Physical Education, The College has held its flag high in the domain of Sports and Games at different levels of competitions. Since its inception our college bagged over all games and sports championship for several times. The vision of the Physical Education department is the development and promotion of sports activities for health, educational and social benefits of student community. Accordingly, The Vision, Mission and the objective of the college directed towards developing our student to a confident and competent individual with ethical values. Motivation of student’s participation in Cultural, sports and games is encouraged by college keeping in view empowerment of women globally, thus facilitating team spirit and understanding while working in groups to enrich ethical values.

 

VISION

The vision of the Physical Education Department is the development and promotion of sports activities for health, educational and social benefits of student community.


 MISSION:

 

  • To provide adequate training for sports and games so that students choose and participate in the events for which they have flair. To spot out and groom the sports talent.
  • To nurture, better human relations through sports and games enjoy a perfect balance between sports performance standards and healthy lifestyle.
  • To imbibe discipline, leadership qualities, courage and the sense of belonging through sports activities.
  • To produce National players, by providing opportunities to develop knowledge, skills and values for the enhancement of performance in a wide range of sports through intercollegiate and inter-university forums.

 

Infrastructure Facilities

The department is having adequate infrastructure facilities for games and sports as given below

  • Volleyball Court
  • Kabaddi Court
  • Kho-kho Court.
  • One Throw Ball Court
  • Indoor Stadium for Multiple purposes .
  • Ball badminton Court
  • Gym (6 Stationed)
  • Indoor Games (Chess, Carroms, Table Tennis)

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE  DEPARTMENT:

  • Department of Physical Education Organized two day National Seminar on Role of Sports and Nutrition –Its Impact on Personality Development. From 18th -19th February 2015 . Sponsored by UGC. Total number of papers presented (with title):  No. of papers published : 111
