The Department of Economics established in the year 1958. It aims at maintaining academic excellence and equipping Women students with the skills necessary to face the challenges of the Global Scenario. It is one of the Women Government Residential College in the Rayalaseema Region of Andhra Pradesh.
To emerge as a premier place of higher education in providing holistic education in the field of Economics and industry matching with the global standards.

A candidate has to select One Stream of Elective consists of five theory papers V- Public Finance & VI semesters - Paper - VIII F1- Descriptive Economic Statistics ,F2 - Statistical Methods,F3- Statistical Techniques).
In respect of electives 1 to 5 proposed in V semester Public Finance is introduced as a compulsory paper and VI semesters Paper - VIII F1- Descriptive Economic Statistics, F2 - Statistical Methods,F3- Statistical Techniques. The internal & External examination may be conducted by the Controller of Examination for 25 Marks and 75 Marks respectively.
